How to Add a Logo to a PSD Mockup

By Vikas · Updated October 7, 2026

Adding a logo to a mockup takes a minute once you know where it goes. The logo is placed inside the mockup’s Smart Object, and Photoshop wraps it onto the product for you.

Add the logo in 6 steps

  1. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the Smart Object layer, often named “Your Design Here” or “Logo”.
  2. Double-click its thumbnail to open it in a new tab.
  3. Choose File > Place Embedded… and select your logo file. You can also paste it in.
  4. Resize it without stretching and center it. Use the alignment buttons in the options bar if they appear.
  5. Hide or delete the placeholder layer.
  6. Press Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on Mac) and close the tab. The logo now shows on the mockup.

Best file types: a transparent PNG or a vector file (SVG, AI or PDF). Avoid a JPG logo with a white background.

My logo has a white box around it

Use a transparent PNG. If you only have a JPG with a white background and the logo is dark, set the logo layer’s blend mode to Multiply. The white disappears and the dark logo stays.

My logo needs a different color

A dark product needs a light logo. Ask for a white version of the logo, or double-click the logo layer, choose Color Overlay and pick a color. Do this inside the Smart Object tab.
